Great work District 7230!

To everyone who attended the Outreach Food event on Saturday a big Thank You! These types of hands on events are what the Rotary Club of Wall Street is all about. They are only possible when people step up and participate. In this case the RCWS had a great turn out. We had club members, guests, family and a very strong Pace Rotaract presence. Pace Rotaract is showing they have real leadership and member involvement. As club President I was very proud of all of you and our club. Again, Thank all of you for participating!
We received this update from End Hunger NE’s Facebook page:
October 19 at the Memorial United Methodist in White Plains NY over 800 Rotarians from 42 Rotary Clubs around Westchester, the Bronx, and Manhattan came together to package 100,002 meals for local food pantries, soup kitchens, and food banks. Each club donated $500, $1000, or more to fund the cost of the ingredients.
This massive project to feed the needy came up as a result of local Rotary clubs listening to the heartbeats of their neighbors and realizing that hunger is a problem even here.
In the United States in 2013, hunger effects one in six people (including 1 out of every 4 or 5 American kids).
