Tsidii Le Loka is an actress, vocalist, and composer originally from the Kingdom of Lesotho in southern Africa.
She is best known for her role as Rafiki in the original Broadway production of Disney’s musical The Lion King. For her performance, she was received the Drama Desk Award, Drama League Award, and Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical, and was also nominated for a Tony Award. She also composed a piece for the Grammy Award-winning album of The Lion King.
In addition, she has been awarded the prestigious Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement in Musical Theatre from The British Academy of Composers and Songwriters. Furthermore, she has gone on tour and worked with a number of international stars such as Madonna, Sting, Dionne Warwick, and Harry Belafonte. She has acted in numerous theater, film, and television productions including Stephen King’s Rose Red, South Pacific, and The Vagina Monologues.
