January 25: Marc Block (Intellectual property and cyber-crime)

Marc Jonas Block is a commercial litigator for Kucker and Bruh LLP whose practice focuses on appeals, intellectual property and real estate. He represents clients in trademark, false advertisement and copyright infringement claims in federal courts located in New York, New Jersey, Washington D.C., Georgia, California, Connecticut and Washington State, as well successfully prosecuting and defending against cyber-squatting claims in federal courts and before the National Arbitration Forum. Mr. Block also negotiates licenses for software, film rights in life stories and brand marketing. He prosecutes trademark applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and appears before the Trademark Trials and Appeals Board on cancellation and opposition proceedings.

Mr. Block counsels fashion designers regarding their commercial and intellectual property needs, particularly brand development, and advises musicians, television directors, and graphic and commercial artists regarding their rights under state and federal laws, including copyrights. He also has substantial experience in real estate matters, such as obtaining specific performance and money judgment for the holder of an option to purchase real property, and representing a mortgage holder in a large multi-jurisdictional foreclosure action in New York, Connecticut, Virginia and North Carolina.
Mr. Block has significant appellate experience, having argued before state and federal appellate courts in New York, Florida, Georgia and New Jersey on a wide variety of matters including creation and breaches of contracts, secondary meaning and likelihood of confusion of trademarks, ownership of real property and procedural matters.
