Save the Date – November 20 – Dr. Thomas Kraehenbuehl

Dr. Thomas Kraehenbuehl will be talking about “Repairing Broken Hearts”. Rotary had helped by enabling his PhD and Postdoctoral project at the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology through a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship. Thomas and his team developed human heart-like tissue from scratch – fully outside of a human body – using human embryonic stem cells (very first cells in life) and tissue engineering technologies. These tissue engineering strategies are promising for potential treatment of currently incurable diseases such as heart attacks.
