On November 12, two members of the Rotary Club of Wall Street NY met a 48 foot truck delivering supplies for relief efforts in NYC. The truck was organized by a Rotarian from Aubsale Valley and arrived in NYC full of supplies.
We worked with 4 team members from the Bowery Mission to unload the truck and re-pack it in to vans. Supplies are already being distributed to those in need.
While the power is back on in lower Manhattan, there are still many ongoing needs.
After Sandy hit NYC, Bowery Mission used all their supplies to accommodate an increase to triple capacity at their shelter.
We are raising funds to help them re-stock supplies for Thanksgiving meals and ensure that Thanksgiving meals can go on as usual this year.
They need 200 turkeys to serve 5,000 meals on Thanksgiving Day and 9,000 meals during Thanksgiving week.
For only $16, you can sponsor a turkey to help reach the 200 turkey goal!
