The Bowery Mission

The Bowery Mission focuses on meals, shelter & services and has served homeless and hungry New Yorkers since 1879 when its neighborhood came to define the term “skid row”. Their children’s programs, called Kids With A Promise, serves at-risk youth and began in 1894 by giving the children of recent immigrants the chance to escape the tenements in the summer.

Since our club’s original charter, our members have regularly collected goods, provided meal services, and helped e.g. with emergency relief efforts following devastation in New York City cause by Hurricane Sandy in 2012. Our New York members quickly generated donations of clothing, food, water, and cleaning supplies in addition to $8,000 for further recovery efforts.
