Private Rotary Screening
“Benda Bilili”
Come see the gripping story of the music group, Staff Benda Bilili, composed of polio survivors from the Democratic Republic of Congo. They are rising stars of World Music and the subject of a documentary being released by National Geographic Entertainment this fall.
The group is part of the Rotary “This Close” PSA campaign which aims to raise awareness and support for our fight against polio. Their hit song is called “Polio”, in which they appeal to parents to vaccinate their children against the disease that left many of them disabled.
Monday, September 19th there will be a private screening of the National Geographic documentary “Benda Bilili” at the IFC Center in New York City at 7:00pm. This film screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the filmmaker and with PDG George Camp regarding Rotary’s fight against Polio.
You are invited to this private screening along with any guests you would like to bring. Because seats are limited, please confirm your attendance with the list of guests by reply to the email address BendarsvpNY@gmail.com
The trailer for the film can be seen at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdR6VqCKSA
